Most of us spend a lot of time during the day thinking, analysing, processing information and acting out of it. Our brains are very high on activity. And when this becomes a norm from daybreak to nightfall, we tend to feel the Stress of constant brain-activity.
Stress is dis-ease!
Stress is characterized by a high level of Beta-brainwave. Beta waves are produced when you force your brain to do a task you would NOT normally choose to do, and do it just out of the need to survive or get through a situation. For the subconscious, this is equivalent to activating the 'Survival Instinct' (also known as Fight-Flight Mechanism) and pushing your brain and body to act, not out of pleasure, but out of the need to survive and get through.

Self Hypnosis
Self-Hypnosis is the process of consciously switching off the Beta-brainwaves and inducing the more relaxing Alpha and Theta brain waves. The Alpha state is our natural state of being. Our brain is in alpha-state when we 'De-Stress' - listen to music, dance, swim, paint, watch a movie, or even snooze...
In the Alpha State, our brain allows us to switch off the Fight-Flight Mechanism and come to a natural state - that of Living in the Now, Living in Peace.
